Meet the Visionary and Instructor of BoldMarks Academy, Budgeting 101:
Chandria Marks, The Budgetnista
Hi! My name is Chandria. I have always been fascinated about how money works. My preschool teacher once shared with me and my family what I said about my money, "I'm saving ALL my money in my piggy bank so I can pay my bills when I'm older." When I made that statement, I was only 4 or 5 years old! Some would say I made that statement as being very wise or intelligent, but it was growing up in a home with the lack of knowledge and discipline about money that triggered me to think that way. I grew up in a loving and supportive household with both parents, both hard workers, but poor with money. As a result, I remember coming home occasionally with the lights and gas cut off due to lack of money management. Anyone that knows me, know I am crazy about my parents!!! Period! So much so, I knew whatever I did in life I promised to get this money thing right.
I jokingly tell people that God prepared me mentally and financially for the pandemic by going through a separation pre COVID-19 and finalizing my divorce during COVID-19. I was forced to manage and understand money as a newly single mother or repeat my parent’s mistakes. On top of that, hours at my job had dropped drastically... BUT GOD!!! During those difficult times, I became a master budgetnista in my personal finances. Learn my blueprint to budgeting when you enroll.
